Greetings Parents of "Sound of Music" Cast/ Crew members!
Amidst a busy holiday season filled with concerts and holiday events, your child has been working very hard on this year's PCMS musical production. The show is coming upon us (February 5th, 6th, & 7th) and the rehearsal schedule will become very intense as we enter the month of January (please refer to the attached schedule as a reminder of these rehearsals).
To ensure that all the children remember the songs during the vacation, we would like to have 1 additional rehearsal on Monday, December 22nd from 3:30 - 5:00 in the auditorium. EVERY CAST MEMBER NEEDS TO ATTEND
. Only the two crew leaders need to attend. All other crew is invited to attend, but it is not mandatory.
In addition, there will be a MANDATORY PARENT MEETING on Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 from 6:30 - 7:30 in the auditorium
(this meeting immediately follows the scheduled rehearsal). At this meeting, important information regarding the performances, show t-shirts, show week dinners, cast/ crew party, costume and prop management, volunteers for lobby display and backstage assistance, crew duties, and cast obligations will be discussed. All the adults involved in the production will be present to answer any questions, address any concerns, and clarify any information regarding the production.
We thank you for providing us the opportunity to teach your children and to enrich their theatre education at Port Chester Middle School. Most importantly, we look forward to seeing you at the Parent Meeting and for a successful 2015 musical production!

Cell Phones and IPODS
We, at PCMS, understand that Cell phones and IPOD-like devices are a very important part of the middle school students' life. With that said, they are not allowed to be used in the school building. This means before, during or after school. If it is seen in a student's hand, it will be assumed on, and then confiscated, given to the assistant principal, who will then return it to a parent or guardian. There are phones designated for each grade to use in the event a child must call a parent.
After School Detention
The middle school has a very strict lateness policy. If a child is late to school without an excuse, more than 4 times, they must serve detention from 2:56-3:45.
In the unfortunate event a student receives a discipline referral they may also be given up to three days detention. A parent will be notified by their child's administrator. This detention is from 2:56 - 3:45 as well. Students are expected to complete homework at this time.
All students in the district are required to accept, sign and follow the Technology Acceptable Use Policy
in order to use the technological resources offered by the Port Chester Rye Union Free School District.
